Forgiveness is an Amputation

Fanning away midsummer heat, here's your Saturday Post!

Forgiveness is an amputation
With phantom limbs
I've got some more cutting to do
I was told once and remind again

Try to be brave enough
To break your own heart
Embrace the pain and freedom
And never forget that

Pride and ego bind a wound
Habit is holding grudge
For that toxic tourniquet
One must make deep the cut

Forgiveness is an amputation
Sometimes with phantom pains
I've got some more cutting to do
But I am still running my race

The salty taste of things done in the dark cry out to be held forever, as if a tidal wave could protect a pearl. "It is a sin to lock yourself in a dark past when you hold such a light within you as your real self. Your free self."

With words, song & prayer, TiMo
